Summer and Fall 2011
The following is a list of summer and fall workshops for 2011. A supply list will be provided two weeks prior to the workshop upon payment. Class sizes are limited, so be sure to sign up early.
Color Basics and More (Oil and Acrylic) - August 6-7, 2010
(Saturday and Sunday) 9am - 4pm
Learn about colors (in any medium) and how to use them effectively to get shadows, depth, and color excitement in your paintings. Learn how "mud" happens and what to do about it. This two-day workshop will be taught in oils and all materials will be provided for you; just show up. Tuition, $175 (includes all supplies). Advanced registration and deposit is required. Landscape Basics (in Oils) - October 1-2, 2011 (Saturday and Sunday) 9am - 4pm
This two-day workshop teaches what it is important to observe in a landscape; focusing on composition, color, and light. Principles apply to plein air painting and work from photos. Plein air will be taught if the weather cooperates. The cost is $150. A palette of paint may be purchased for $10. Advanced registration and deposit is required. Still Life Basics (in Oils and Acrylic) Date TBD (Saturday and Sunday) 9am-4pm
This two-day workshop focuses on composition, lighting, and painting from a setup. Working from a still-life setup helps build essential observation skills. The cost is $175.
